Service Technician
About the job
- A technical secondary-school or university education is required.
- A qualification under § 14 of Decree 50/1978, specifically § 6, § 7, or § 8, is required.
- Very good command of Microsoft Office is required.
- English communication ability sufficient to understand technical documentation is required.
- Install, repair, and modify equipment for which the technician is authorized and trained, using the appropriate equipment.
- Document completed work appropriately and perform duties in accordance with the integrated management system and instructions from technical department management.
- Install new equipment and commission it according to manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations; prepare handover records and record the work in the equipment logbook.
- Train users on selected equipment whenever new equipment is installed or existing parameters change, including module additions or software upgrades; record training in the equipment logbook and issue an individually named confirmation to each participant.
- Train the responsible person to monitor operating parameters for selected equipment according to manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations, including which parameters to check, limit values, checking frequency, where to record checks, and procedures when limits are exceeded; provide the trained user with the appropriate recording forms.
- Ensure service and repairs are provided.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, safety-technical inspections, technical inspections, and preventive checks according to manufacturer instructions; prepare an annual maintenance plan for equipment within the technician’s remit that is covered by a service contract.
- Maintain and update the database of technical equipment within the technician’s remit.
- Record all relevant events in the medical-device register or equipment logbook, or document them by another appropriate method according to the intervention.
- Regularly send work plans, work reports, service reports, and equipment installation protocols to the service manager.
- Contribute to translating and proofreading user manuals and, when needed, create work instructions, operating diagrams, and other documents.
- Collaborate with the sales department to collect market information.
- Assist with goods distribution.
- Collaborate with company management to reduce environmental impacts, including interpreting trends in water and other resource consumption or monitored operating parameters, proposing technical improvements, and implementing them.
- Attend operational meetings, briefings, training, quality meetings, and required training sessions according to schedule.
- Work with quality management to implement and update the integrated management system and, with QREM FMC Germany, analyze processes, create and update procedures, records, and related documentation, put documents into daily practice, participate in seminars and training, attend audits conducted by QREM FMC Germany, TÜV Germany, or other institutions, and conduct internal technical audits.
- Manage the portable stock of spare parts, service tools, and equipment in accordance with technical department recommendations.
- Submit measuring instruments for calibration on time and perform in-house calibration of selected measuring instruments and service equipment.
- Comply with and monitor hygiene measures required to keep all technical equipment safe and clean.
- Maintain technical knowledge of medical equipment, monitor developments and implement them in practice, and pursue ongoing professional learning and development.
- Communicate with external parties and represent the company by promoting Fresenius Medical Care products and services to suppliers, the public, professional audiences, and the media; communicate with media only with the explicit permission of the company director.
- Report to the head of the technical department as instructed, including following the requested scope and frequency.
- Experience in a healthcare operation is recommended.
