- At least 3 years of experience is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, and internet is preferred.
- A CPR/First Aid/Automated External Defibrillator Instructor Certificate is required.
- Advanced OSHA certification is required.
- A Loss Prevention Qualified Certificate is required.
- A high school diploma or General Education Development credential is preferred.
- Assist the department as a CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator instructor.
- Assist with quarterly loss prevention and safety inspections.
- Assist with coaching Security Officers and take a lead role in the department.
- Apply knowledge of state and local safety and shoplifting laws.
- Ensure adequate Security coverage at various locations in line with departmental expectations.
- Evaluate physical security needs for Goodwill facilities and communicate suggested improvements to the Safety and Asset Protection Manager.
- Assist with emergency situations, First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator response.
- Apply Community Emergency Response Team certification knowledge and serve as an essential member of Goodwill’s Emergency Response Team.
- Assist in training new Security Officers on company standards, security policies, and procedures.
- Promote health, safety, and liability awareness and act as a safety leader.
- Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect intrusion and ensure that doors, windows, and gates are secure.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to prevent theft and maintain premises security.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, and unusual occurrences.
- Contact police or fire departments during emergencies such as fires or the presence of unauthorized persons.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Check vehicles and donation center doors, lift gates, and roll-up doors to ensure they are locked and secured.
- Notify management immediately of illegal activity conducted during business hours.
- Safeguard company property, including donated goods, and immediately report theft or unauthorized possession to management.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
