FedEx launches dedicated aircraft engine logistics solution.

FedEx launches dedicated aircraft engine logistics solution. A dedicated engine logistics solution combines specialised handling, digital tools and global connectivity to transport aircraft engines efficiently and minimise maintenance-related delays. BySTAT Times | 30 Oct 2026 1:45 AM FedEx has introduced a dedicated engine logistics solution to strengthen its global aerospace capabilities, focusing on the transportation of aircraft engines and oversized aerospace components. The service is designed to provide faster, more precise and reliable movement of critical aerospace equipment. The offering aims to address growing maintenance demand, supply chain complexities and the need to maximise aircraft fleet availability. It will help aerospace companies transport essential components while minimising delays and disruptions linked to engine movement. Marcus Balzereit, president, FedEx Logistics, said, "When an aircraft engine needs to move, every hour matters and every detail counts. A delayed engine can impact flight schedules, aircraft availability, maintenance schedules, and operational commitments across the aviation industry. With our own airline DNA, we understand firsthand the complexity and urgency behind keeping aircraft flying. Our solution brings together dedicated aerospace experts, digital innovation, and a proven global network to provide customers with the speed, visibility, and reliability they need to keep operations running efficiently." FedEx's engine logistics solution is supported by a specialised team that handles main-deck engine quotations and manages shipments from origin to destination. Working with teams across its global network, the experts provide centralised shipment oversight, regulatory compliance, customs coordination and end-to-end management. All engine movements follow FedEx's global operating procedures, with strict safety and security checks to ensure engines are properly secured before departure. The service is also supported by a proprietary digital platform that simplifies quotation generation, automates customer communications and manages shipment documentation securely. The solution addresses growing challenges in the aerospace sector, including extended lead times, component shortages and increasing pressure to maintain aircraft availability. By combining specialised handling with digital tools and global connectivity, FedEx aims to improve shipment visibility, strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce maintenance-related disruptions. Since June 2025, FedEx has transported hundreds of main-deck aircraft engines, weighing several thousand tonnes in total. The experience, supported by its global network and aerospace expertise, positions the company to provide scalable and reliable engine transportation services. FedEx wins AI data centre air freight as international freight revenue jumps 28%

FedEx is winning more air freight business from customers that once used it mainly for parcels, chief executive officer Raj Subramaniam said on a third-quarter earnings call Wednesday. It recently won new air freight work from an AI data centre customer it has served for more than 40 years. Business-to-business shipping makes up 60% of FedEx's revenue and drove most of its quarterly growth. International freight revenue rose 28% year over year, helped by data centre and other B2B demand, while average daily international freight pounds grew 15%. FedEx has also signed 13 major automotive customers to its value-added services since creating a dedicated automotive vertical last year. Rival UPS is likewise shifting towards higher-value segments such as healthcare, high-tech, manufacturing, and automotive.

FedEx becomes more optimistic for the current year.

FedEx becomes more optimistic for the current year. The US logistics group FedEx, like its competitors UPS and DHL, is looking more confidently at the current year. Adjusted earnings per share are expected to be between 18 and 18.60 US dollars, the company announced on Wednesday after the US market closed. For revenue, FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam now expects an increase of twelve percent, and thus one percentage point more than previously. Investors reacted cautiously. 29.10.2026 04:49 After the quarterly report was published, FedEx shares initially fell by more than 7 percent in after-hours US trading. In pre-market trading on Thursday, the loss narrowed to just under one percent. A change in the reporting modalities made comparison of the figures with analyst estimates difficult, market sources said. In the third quarter, FedEx revenue rose by twelve percent to 22.9 billion US dollars (20.5 billion euros). Net profit fell by around two thirds to 290 million US dollars. This was due in part to restructuring costs outside the USA. FedEx wants to divest its freight division, among other things. In addition, the group is struggling with inflation-related cost increases, for example for energy. Like its competitors, it is trying to pass part of this on to customers through fuel surcharges. However, this happens with a slight time lag and does not always succeed completely. Add to this the rapid changes in global trade policy and fluctuations in economic development. For JPMorgan analyst Brian Ossenbeck, the figures allow positive conclusions for competitor DHL. The Bonn-based company already presented key data in mid-October and raised its annual targets. When the final figures are presented in a week, however, the focus is likely to be all the more on volume development in the coming weeks. Ossenbeck saw the FedEx figures as a positive signal for the upcoming peak season. The current important final quarter includes not only Christmas but also retail promotional days such as Black Friday. During this time, the logistics and delivery industry does a correspondingly large amount of business. The US group UPS had also raised its annual targets two days ago and expressed confidence about the upcoming hot phase./lew/he/jha/

FedEx converts digital insights into new market expansion.

FedEx converts digital insights into new market expansion. By PYMNTS | October 28, 2026 FedEx is using its digital insights to unlock new markets, the company said in a Wednesday (Oct. 28) press release detailing its results for the quarter ended Sept. 30. The company is leveraging its data to offer visibility and supply chain management tools to customers, according to a third quarter earnings presentation released Wednesday. "Building on our data and technology advantage, we announced new collaborations to provide value-added services for existing and new customers," FedEx President and CEO Raj Subramaniam said Wednesday during an earnings call. FedEx is also deploying physical artificial intelligence in its own operations, beginning with its use of Dexterity robotic loaders at one of its hubs, per the presentation. PYMNTS reported Sept. 1 that this deployment sees dual-armed robots autonomously load trailers at production scale. Please add Money By Design to your preferred sources list so its news, data and interviews show up in your feed. Thanks! "When it comes to physical AI, our network is already one of the most automated in the world," Subramaniam said. "We are making notable strides in automating our load and unload operations to help create a safer and more efficient environment for our team members." In shipping business, FedEx saw volume growth in both its U.S. Domestic business, which saw its revenue increase 10% year over year to $14.7 billion, and its International business, which saw its revenue increase 17% year over year to $7.5 billion, the presentation said. During September, FedEx recorded average daily volume gains of 4% in Federal Express U.S. Priority and Deferred Package, 2% in Federal Express Ground Package, 9% in Federal Express International Export Package and 16% in Federal Express International Export Freight Pounds, per the presentation. "We were particularly encouraged by the strength from our B2B customers, including the fast-growing data center vertical, which supported 28% year-over-year growth in international freight revenue," FedEx Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Brie Carere said during the earnings call. FedEx has become more focused after spinning off FedEx Freight and selling FedEx Supply Chain, according to the presentation. PYMNTS reported June 1 that FedEx Freight completed its spin-off from FedEx and is focused on the North American less-than-truckload (LTL) industry. PYMNTS reported July 1 that FedEx was planning to sell FedEx Supply Chain to CMA CGM Group as part of its continued corporate streamlining. This sale closed in October, Subramaniam said. "We have taken meaningful strategic actions to become a more focused company, while deliberately allocating capital to create stockholder value," Subramaniam said of these moves.
