About the job
- The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
- The applicant must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The employee must regularly sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; operate tools, a computer, and controls; and speak and hear.
- The employee must occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds; and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- The employee must have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in an organized and efficient manner.
- Verify and enter patient information, including demographics, medical history, and test results, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Review medical records for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Retrieve and deliver medical records to healthcare professionals upon request, ensuring timely access to patient information.
- Assist in coding and indexing medical records to facilitate accurate billing and insurance claims processing.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
- Respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and authorized individuals regarding medical records and information.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems and ensure the proper organization and storage of medical records.
- Follow established protocols for record retention, disposal, and archiving in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
