About the Job

Requirements

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a comparable field.
  • Typically 8–15+ years of professional experience developing complex mechanical or mechatronic products.
  • Demonstrated experience taking products successfully from development into series production.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, machine elements, tolerance management, and technical product development.
  • Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, industrialization, product cost optimization, and production ramp-ups.
  • Extensive CAD experience, preferably with Creo, alternatively SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or comparable systems.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet-metal processing, die casting, injection molding, composites, and precision assembly.
  • Very good understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, fatigue behavior, and reliability methods.
  • Practical experience in prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and product validation.
  • Ability to advance technical decisions in interdisciplinary development environments.
  • Very good English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of mechanical systems for humanoid robots from concept through series production.
  • Develop and improve structures, joints, actuators, gearboxes, housings, and other critical subsystems, focusing on manufacturability, robustness, and cost.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, Design for Serviceability, and Design-to-Cost activities.
  • Own product industrialization and work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and production engineering teams.
  • Define and maintain the mechanical architecture, component specifications, tolerances, and critical interfaces within the robot.
  • Conduct structural, fatigue, thermal, tolerance, and reliability analyses to ensure long-term product performance.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions during prototype, validation, and production phases.
  • Support supplier and external manufacturing-partner selection, qualification, and technical evaluation.
  • Develop validation strategies and support testing activities to demonstrate performance and reliability requirements.
  • Support and mentor less experienced engineers and establish technical best practices within the team.
  • Work closely with electronics, controls, software, product management, and operations teams to bring highly integrated robotic systems to market.

Desired Qualifications

  • German proficiency.
  • Experience developing robotic systems, automation solutions, humanoid robots, exoskeletons, mobile robots, or other demanding mechatronic products.
  • In-depth knowledge of actuator systems, gearbox development, lightweight structures, and high-performance systems.
  • Experience scaling products from prototypes through small batches to series production.
  • Knowledge of supplier management, quality methods, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, risk analyses, and design reviews.
  • Experience leading mechanical engineering teams or owning larger subsystems.
  • Understanding of reliability-growth testing, field failure analysis, and continuous product improvement processes.

About the Company

Neura Robotics

Cognitive robots with perception, manipulation, collaboration

Neura Robotics builds cognitive robots for industrial and service settings, combining perception, manipulation, and human collaboration. It develops both the hardware and the software stack for Physical AI, creating robot platforms like MAiRA, MAV, LARA and MiPA along with training infrastructure. The system works by integrating sensing, decision-making, and manipulation capabilities on a hardware-software stack that can be deployed in large-scale production, with the company planning robots fleets and NEURA Gyms for ongoing training and improvement. What sets Neura Robotics apart is its end-to-end approach to Physical AI, including a focus on mass production, an established global deployment plan, and a broad ecosystem of strategic backers and partners that support scaling and international expansion. The goal is to enable worldwide deployment of its robot platforms and associated training infrastructure, turning physical AI into widely available industrial and service automation.
