Requirements
  • Current Penn State student (not previously employed by the university) who is seeking employment with Penn State.
  • Must be available to work between 5 and 40 hours per week, during normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), with occasional nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to pass background checks in accordance with University policies.
  • Payment is $15 per hour for this assistantship.
  • Candidates should include a resume, a cover letter, and one letter of recommendation with their application.
  • Employment may be for Fall and Spring terms under the WorkLink program.
  • Preference will be given to students who have volunteered with the WorkLink program in the past (tutoring or mentoring).
  • Candidates may receive course credit for the assistantship if approved by the assistantship coordinator or advisor for their major.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in tutoring students and working on readings and course assignments each week.
  • Provide job development and job coaching support.
  • Assist WorkLink faculty with program supports as needed (for example, managing databases, communicating with other faculty, promoting the program, preparing and presenting WorkLink Seminar topics).
  • Organize mentor and tutor scheduling and events for WorkLink students.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to students who have volunteered with the WorkLink program in the past as a tutor or mentor.
