Requirements
- A minimum four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 2 years of professional experience is required, ideally in career development or coaching, professional counseling, or related program management focused on job seekers.
- Outstanding, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese are required.
- Experience developing trusting relationships and providing effective guidance to adult learners and/or job seekers is required.
- Experience delivering career coaching in an entirely remote format is required.
- An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner is required.
- A strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision are required.
- Proactive problem-solving, high attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly are required.
- A high level of technical proficiency and comfort adapting to new tools and technologies are required.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack is required.
- The ideal candidate will be located in Japan.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-to-one coaching meetings with learners, with up to 6 hours per week allocated.
- Offer 4–6 hours of office-hour availability per week, equivalent to up to 12 meetings of 30 minutes or less per week, with a maximum of 8 hours weekly; coordinate mutually available meeting times with learners as needed.
- Share regular asynchronous updates with the professional development team each week, celebrating wins, discussing learners needing support or guidance, and sharing relevant announcements and updates.
- Participate in bi-weekly pod meetings for in-depth check-ins, updates on current program priorities, and collaboration with other Career Success Coaches.
- Track notes from one-to-one coaching meetings related to learner job-search progress, at approximately 5 minutes per meeting.
- Update the job-search status of every learner in the cohort monthly, at approximately 1 hour per month.
- Reply to all Slack and email communications within 24 hours, at approximately 1 hour per week.
- Provide feedback using standardized rubrics on three learner exercises throughout the program: Resume draft, LinkedIn profile, and Resume final, at approximately 10 minutes per learner per exercise.

- Passion for workforce development in the data center technology and operations learning ecosystem, and motivation to help learners build skills for data center operations roles in Japan's technology and innovation sectors.
- Cultural awareness and understanding of the needs of learners entering technical fields, including the ability to guide participants in building foundational data center technician and operations skills, navigating Japan's job market, and progressing toward career outcomes.
- Enjoyment of developing and refining program strategies, including learner engagement tactics, career-readiness resources, and employer-aligned preparation, to support participants across diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Strong program and project management skills to coordinate across learners, instructors, employers, and internal teams while maintaining focus on job placement, learner skill mastery, and stakeholder satisfaction.
