Tax Accountant - Indirect Taxes
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, including required indirect and global tax experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to procedures and instructions.
- File indirect taxes, including sales, value-added tax, and goods and services tax, and other applicable local taxes accurately and on time.
- Research and ensure compliance with state, local, and global tax regulations.
- Reconcile all tax accounts in the general ledger, including property, sales, use, corporate income, and value-added tax.
- Support tax inquiries and audits from internal and external auditors as well as government agencies worldwide.
- Monitor updates in tax legislation, assess business impact, and communicate changes to leadership.
- Perform month-end close tax-related tasks, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Support global tax planning, transfer pricing analysis, and intercompany transaction documentation.
- Maintain and improve internal controls related to tax reporting and compliance.
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, IT, and other teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business transactions.
- Assist in implementing tax automation tools and enterprise resource planning system enhancements.
- A master's degree or certified public accountant credential is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax software is preferred.
