About the job
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
- A license to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Continuing education in accordance with Pennsylvania state regulations.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
- Proficiency in current dental technologies and techniques.
- The ability to manage patient anxiety and create a comfortable environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and state dental board regulations.
- Perform dental examinations, diagnose oral conditions, and create treatment plans for patients.
- Provide routine dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive care.
- Perform fillings, crowns, bridges, and other restorative procedures.
- Extract teeth and perform minor oral surgical procedures, including simple and surgical extractions.
- Provide cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening, veneers, and bonding.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Provide dentures, partials, and other prosthetic appliances for tooth replacement.
- Collaborate with orthodontists, periodontists, endodontists, and oral surgeons when referrals are necessary.
