Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 2 years of Housekeeping experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Serves as a working lead, coordinating activities of environmental service employees engaged in cleaning and disinfection.
  • Performs duties of an Environmental Service Associate, including but not limited to heavy cleaning as required.
  • Ensure patient, procedure and surgical room compliance inspections and observations.
  • Monitor and track Hand Hygiene compliance and all other EVS services Scope of Work.
  • Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
  • Conduct patient engagement interviews for housekeeping services and potential service recovery needs to improve Press Ganey Patient Experience scores.
  • Monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
  • Train, schedule, coach supervise and motivate support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established standards and consistent with GBMC HealthCare System core values.
  • Assists in providing guidance to staff to ensure work assignments and cleaning schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift/area.
  • Communicates and documents operational concerns.
  • Maintain adequate cleaning inventory for department/unit use.
  • Assists in structuring work functions to ensure proper staff and resource utilization functions include environmental services, waste disposal and meeting room set-ups.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated; participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other departments’ functions.
  • Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the position.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Patient & Workplace Safety: Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
  • Patient Population: Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.
