Requirements
  • Full training is provided during the first year on the job.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Collect samples from animals and administer medications, injections, and treatments according to established protocols and procedures for diagnostic tests and research.
  • Observe animal behavior, perform basic animal care, and report concerns to the appropriate entities to contribute to animal health and well-being and promote research.
  • Prepare food and formulas and feed animals according to established schedules and specifications.
  • Maintain and update records related to research procedures.
  • Inventory, clean, and maintain the organization of animal holding spaces and supplies.
  • Inspect equipment and report equipment problems to ensure optimal and safe operation.
  • Perform milking, feeding, cleaning, animal handling, animal health observations, and collection and processing of composite milk samples.
  • Work 8–24 hours per week, including an every-other-weekend rotation and some holidays, on either the 3:30 AM–12:00 PM or 1:00 PM–9:30 PM shift.
