What's actually helping Dermatology Practice administrators improve efficiency.

What's actually helping Dermatology Practice administrators improve efficiency. by PatientPoint September 8, 2026 You already have enough on your plate. Staffing. Scheduling. Compliance. Patient flow. PatientPoint(R) partnered with Talker Research to ask dermatology practice administrators what's actually working and what still needs to change. Here's what they told PatientPoint, Inc..[1] Your workload runs heavier than most. 92% of dermatology practice administrators say their workload increased over the past year, above the average across all specialties.[2] Some of that comes from an unexpected place. Patient-facing responsibilities, like communication and engagement, are growing even faster than administrative burden for derm specifically.[3] Provider burnout adds to the load too. Dermatology admins are twice as likely as the average practice to name it their single hardest daily challenge.[4] The tech they trust. Dermatology practice administrators aren't skeptical of new technology. When a tool genuinely improves patient care, they're quick to embrace it: * 90% say new in-office technologies improve the patient experience[5] * 86% expect AI to have a positive impact on their role over the next five years[6] That confidence isn't blanket tech enthusiasm. It's rooted in results. AI optimism among dermatology practice administrators is the highest of any specialty surveyed, well above the 80% average across all specialties.[7] Tools that lighten the load, while improving patient experiences. Manual, repetitive tasks eat into time you don't have. Here's where the right screens make the difference. Staff meeting room screens keep your team aligned on practice priorities without another meeting or another memo. That matters even more in dermatology, where communication transparency between providers and administrators already runs a bit lower than the specialty average (84% vs. 89% overall).[8] Waiting room screens and exam room screens give patients the education they need before you walk in, so your staff spend less time repeating the same talk track and more time on higher-value conversations. 78% of dermatology practice administrators say screens make the practice appear more high-tech to patients.[9]. Other derm practices are already moving. Dermatology practices adopt patient engagement screens at about half the rate of other specialties today (18% vs. 35% overall).[10] That's changing fast. 38% of dermatology practice administrators plan to add screens within the next two to three years, the highest adoption intent of any specialty surveyed.[11] Waiting could mean falling behind peers who are already moving, not just the industry curve. There's more in the full report. This is only part of the story. The full 2026 Dermatology Practice Administrator Confidence Index breaks down where dermatology stands on AI, technology adoption and what practice administrators predict for the future of the field.
