About the job
- Detailed knowledge, experience, and understanding of single-line diagrams, three-line protection diagrams, electrical schematics, cable schedules, cable installation sequences, and the ProCable system.
- Detailed knowledge, experience, and ability to implement and verify electrical protection equipment and settings, electrical protection fault sequencing, synchronizing equipment and circuits, and associated electrical interfaces to the distributed control system.
- Understanding and use of the Permit to Work procedure, and responsibility for isolation of electrical equipment for owned systems.
- Detailed knowledge and experience with back-energization of the high- and medium-voltage electrical system to the Generator Step Up Transformer.
- Review and comment on customer and constructor commissioning schedules and work sequences as they pertain to electrical commissioning activities.
- Walk down and accept installation of company-supplied equipment systems.
- Commission protection interfaces between the generator and switchyard.
- Commission company-supplied transformers and switchgear.
- Execute pre-synchronous and initial synchronizing testing and commissioning activities.
- Interface with the PTWO and assume responsibility for electrical equipment isolation for owned systems, using the Permit to Work procedure.
- Interface with the SFC/SEE Engineer to ensure electrical and SFC/SEE system interfaces are tested and verified.
- Assist the customer and constructor with interpretation of company-supplied drawings, processes, and manuals.
- Interface between the site and internal engineering to resolve non-conformances or issues identified during the commissioning sequence.
- Maintain up-to-date as-built drawings and specifications related to the gas turbine, generator, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure commissioning manuals, procedures, checklists, protocols, and completion certificates are updated and signed as commissioning work progresses.
- Spend 80% of each working day in the field working directly with the customer and/or EPC constructor or third party, with the remaining 20% on administrative work.
