AI Software Modernization Intern - Artificial Intelligence, Software Modernization
Must be physically located in the Pittsburgh metro region and work on-site during the internship.
About the job
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, with at least two years completed.
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and/or experience with AI tools and frameworks such as Python, TensorFlow, OpenAI APIs, and LangChain.
- Must be able to work on-site during the internship period.
- Assist in identifying and scoping opportunities for artificial intelligence and machine learning integration within existing business and laboratory software systems.
- Support the development and testing of AI-assisted tools, automation scripts, or workflow enhancements.
- Research and evaluate modern artificial intelligence frameworks, application programming interfaces, and platforms for practical applicability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, information technology, and operations to implement process improvements.
- Document findings, workflows, and project outcomes for internal use.
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for applying artificial intelligence to real-world business problems.
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
