About the job

Requirements
  • Four to seven or more years leading ERP implementations, with substantial prior implementation leadership; this is not a role for a recent graduate.
  • A strong accounting or finance background, including understanding of the general ledger, close process, and financial reporting, and the ability to bridge finance and technology.
  • Hands-on experience with common mid-market ERP and accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Sage, and QuickBooks.
  • A track record of managing external implementation partners and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Project management experience and the ability to operate as the single accountable owner across several companies at once.
  • Willingness to travel 25–50% of the time.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the central ERP resource across the portfolio, running multiple implementations and upgrades in parallel from planning through go-live and stabilization.
  • Own project management end to end, including scope, timelines, budgets, resourcing, risk, and stakeholder communication with company CFOs, controllers, and leadership.
  • Select and manage external implementation partners and vendors, hold them accountable, challenge them where needed, and keep projects on scope and on budget.
  • Advise which companies need a full ERP implementation versus a targeted upgrade or clean-up, based on company size and maturity.
  • Standardize a repeatable implementation approach, tooling, and best practices that can be reused across the portfolio.
  • Partner with finance and accounting teams to translate their needs into system requirements and ensure a smooth transition off legacy systems.
  • Report to senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes across the portfolio.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a multi-entity, portfolio, private-equity-backed, or public-accounting environment is a strong plus; candidates from accounting or advisory firms are especially encouraged to apply.

About the company

Heritage Holding is a private equity firm that buys majority stakes in founder- and family-led U.S. businesses and grows them over the long term. It typically targets platform investments with enterprise values of $5–$100 million and raises capital from institutions and family offices. The firm differentiates itself through a hands-on, collaborative approach: it provides operational support, partners with existing management, and uses bolt-on acquisitions to scale. Unlike firms focused on short-term exits, Heritage Holding pursues patient, long-duration capital to build durable value rather than financial engineering. Its goal is to create sustainable growth and value by expanding profitable companies across sectors such as business services, healthcare, IT and industrial services, wealth management, and niche areas including MSPs, remote patient monitoring, commercial HVAC, power services, hydrovac, and RIAs managing $200–$750 million AUM.

What believers are saying

  • Heritage raised $220 million in September 2024, oversubscribed by institutions and high-net-worth investors.
  • Glaenzer Electric joined Heritage on April 22, 2026, expanding electrical contracting beyond HVAC.
  • Airside Technology acquisition on July 9, 2026 strengthens Central New York mechanical-services density.

What critics are saying

  • Heritage's 50-plus acquisitions concentrate execution risk if one platform integration fails in 2026.
  • SEC registration began July 26, 2024, so compliance and disclosure discipline are still young.
  • If fundraising slows after Fund I, the long-hold model starves, collapsing deal velocity and hiring.

What makes Heritage Holding unique

  • Founded 2015 by HBS classmates Alex de Pfyffer and Ross Porter, now $220 million Fund I.
  • Heritage Holding closed Airside Technology on July 9, 2026, extending its HVAC roll-up strategy.
  • Its 2026 portfolio spans 50-plus acquisitions across 10-plus platforms, emphasizing hands-on operating support.
