Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study
  • Training in project management as well as process improvement frameworks such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • knowledge of supporting analytical project management tracking software programs such as Microsoft Project
  • Over five years of experience leading project teams and tracking multiple projects simultaneously utilizing a broad set of technology tools
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a framework for defining projects and determining which projects should be overseen by the EPMO vs within individual departments
  • Coordinate closely with IT around the intersection between EPMO and IT projects
  • Develop a framework for making go/no go decisions on new projects that incorporates a view on return on investment, risk mitigation and alignment with corporate vision and strategic priorities
  • Develop an approach for staffing projects drawing from corporate and/or division resources
  • Coordinate with department leaders around utilization of their resources including potentially tracking associated costs
  • Assist the BOD / Operating Committee translate corporate priorities into project opportunities that enhance the company’s ability to achieve its vision and strategic objectives
  • Serve as an advisor and resource to the CEO and the BOD / Operating Committee around all topics related to high-priority projects
  • Develop project management best practices / standards and identify training opportunities for project management team participants
  • Build a technology enabled project management data repository for the organization that tracks the status of high priority projects that makes it easy for key stakeholders to remain apprised
  • Monitor progress of projects, meet regularly with project team leads and members and problem solve emerging real time issues with project teams
  • Regularly communicate the status of projects to the CEO, the Operating Committee and other key stakeholders across the organization
  • Directly manage certain high priority projects recruiting team members, establishing project plan, coordinating efforts of project team members and ensuring successful project completion
  • Oversee and support projects not directly managed by the EPMO and act as a coach to project leaders and their project teams
Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Updating of Knowledge (re-training every 1-2 years)
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodology
  • Ability to lead and mentor project leaders and assist them in building their teams
  • Ability to translate corporate priorities into project opportunities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to leverage software/online tools to build a project management data repository
  • Ability to monitor a wide range of activities across the organization in real time
