About the company

Altom Transport hauls bulk liquid chemicals and petroleum products for industrial shippers across the United States and Canada. Its tank trailers carry raw materials, finished products and manufacturing by-products, including liquids that need temperature control or special handling. Customers book individual loads or arrange dedicated equipment and transport campaigns to move freight between plants and other destinations. Alongside freight transportation, the company leases trailers and uses a terminal network anchored by Chicago and Houston to serve regional and cross-border routes. Founded in 1978, the third-generation family-owned carrier is headquartered in Hammond, Indiana.
