Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver license and a good driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.
  • A minimum of one year of related experience is required.
  • The worker must be able to read and understand plans, material lists, and guidelines and meet timelines.
  • The worker must be able to navigate large tractor machinery around obstacles without damaging them.
  • The worker must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The worker must have problem-solving skills.
  • The worker must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • The worker must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • The worker must be available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Perform turf maintenance, including large-machine, slope, and small-machine mowing, using heavy equipment and mowing machinery.
  • Maintain and care for large, intermediate, and small tractor and mowing equipment, including routine preventive-maintenance cycles, cleaning, lubrication, and sharpening mower blades.
  • Perform basic maintenance on small gas tools, including replacing air filters and blades and cleaning carburetors.
  • Recognize and report damaged turf or other assets within the roadway and roadside system.
  • Perform other turf-management duties as required, including herbicide sprayer application, small-mower utilization, and trimmer applications.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with large commercial-size or heavy-equipment machinery is highly preferred.
  • Experience with large mowing machinery is a plus.
