Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of office and administrative practices and principles.
  • Skill in operating computers and related software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.

  • Ability to communicate feedback clearly and effectively to internal and external vendors.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
  • An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree may substitute for four years of required work experience.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree may substitute for up to four years of work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Control the workflow of the office and implement office procedures and practices.
  • Relay directions from the supervisor to coordinate administrative procedures for the Office of Academic Affairs, departments, and other offices.
  • Monitor Office of Academic Affairs programs, including the Visiting Student Application Service, Global Health Learning Opportunities, Student Affiliation Agreements, student orientations, awards programs and events, committees, and other assigned matters.
  • Interface with faculty leadership programs, faculty and alumni, faculty fellows, graduate and professional students, College of Medicine administrators, deans, faculty, managers, supervisors, and department chairs.
  • Prioritize workload to meet work-unit operations.
  • Work with the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to prepare confidential correspondence and reports.
  • Determine and make needed corrections to produce error-free final copies.
  • Assemble data and compose correspondence for the department.
  • Use automation to schedule and track appointments, events, deadlines, and other pending matters.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences pertinent to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
