- Design new electronic products through full production, including reviewing specifications; developing program timelines and reports; conducting design reviews; creating simple mechanical designs and documentation packages; supporting pre-production builds and production transfers; and providing technical support for mature electronic products.
- Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments and equipment.
- Supervise and train project staff as needed.
- Inspect completed projects to ensure conformance with design standards.
- Apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Communicate with customers to define project scope and address deficiencies.
- Review completed design documentation for accuracy and value-engineering alternatives.
- Attend coordination meetings to identify changes in electrical design.
- Coordinate work installation pathways with other trades engineers.
- Read and interpret contract drawings to identify gaps in available data.
- Create shop drawings to transfer 3D designs to real-world applications.
- Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between design and actual work.
- Build 3D models using Revit, Evolve, and Navisworks.
- Model electrical components in 3D.
- Coordinate BIM, including clash detection and resolution using Navisworks Manage.
- Read and interpret plans and drawings.
- Upload models and follow the general contractor's lead BIM coordination process through model sign-off.
- Mentor and train detailers in producing detailed shop drawings.
- Maintain relationships with the operations team, the general contractor, and MEP trade team members.
- Assist with developing and maintaining FSG standards.
- Produce bills of materials for procurement and labor tracking.
- Review pertinent submittals.
- Perform prefab detailing and develop prefab drawings for production.
- Produce record drawings as required.
- Generate RFIs as required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks, the Evolve Revit add-on, Trimble MEP, and Microsoft Suite is a plus.
