Overview:
We’re looking for an Inventory Accounting Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team. In this role, you will lead, grow and develop our inventory accounting activities with the support of a Senior Inventory Accountant. This role partners with operational, technical and strategic teams across the organization and reports to the Global Controller. This is a hybrid position (onsite Tues-Thurs) in our Philadelphia or Miami office.
You Will:
- Review month-end accounting activities, including variance analysis and account reconciliations to provide accurate inventory valuation and reporting
- Perform monthly purchase price variance and inventory adjustment analysis
- Analyze monthly and/or quarterly inventory obsolescence and calculates the provision for reserves
- Work with accounting, supply chain and IT personnel to develop reconciliation processes and understand significant changes in our inventory balances
- Prepare monthly actuals vs budget and gross margin analysis while partnering with FP&A to bridge variances
- Perform ad hoc analysis related to inventory and COGS (cost of goods sold)
- Establish, implement and document policies and procedures related to inventory accounting, including reserves, intercompany transfers and reconciliations
- Design, test and implement automated process solutions (ideally leveraging the Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory module) with a focus on simplification, standardization and optimization, especially the reduction of manual, Excel-based activities
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and consultants for inventory process flows and testing; prepare schedules and analysis for external audit
- Assist with other ad-hoc accounting and finance needs or projects.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA preferredA minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting for multi-site inventory operations
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 705
- Working knowledge of the Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory module
- Advanced Excel capabilities and an aptitude for data manipulation, investigation and analysis
- Experience with system integrations and development of automated processes
- Excellent people management skills with a passion for developing team members
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a remote team environment and meet deadlines
