Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the water treatment field.
  • Strong focus on customer relationships and the ability to understand the balance between customer and VEOLIA teams.
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, equipment and process startup related to VEOLIA Water Treatment Systems products and systems, including reverse osmosis/electrodialysis, ion exchange, and thermal technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
  • Basic water treatment chemistry knowledge and ability to communicate that information to others.
  • Knowledge of structural, mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, piping, welding specifics, and civil notations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid passport.
  • Ability to travel extensively, approximately 70–80% or 250 days per year, throughout North America and other places in the world.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to water treatment chemistry calculations, test reliability and validity, budget analysis, and monitoring time-and-material contract costs.
  • Ability to resolve alignment issues and calculate plumb adjustment figures using plane geometry and chemistry formulas.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, improve operations, and determine whether design works.
  • Ability to perform programmable logic controller and human-machine interface activities, including control-system input/output checkout, system networking, program upload/download, ladder logic, function blocks, code troubleshooting, and writing simple logic.
Responsibilities
  • Commission water treatment plants by ensuring process equipment and control systems perform according to specifications.
  • Act as the construction liaison between design engineering and construction during the erection of water treatment plants.
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.
  • Manage the activities of outside vendors and suppliers, ensuring services and supplies meet project specifications and performance requirements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and log sheets to document and monitor equipment operation.
  • Develop and execute commissioning schedules and performance plans.
  • Develop and execute classroom and hands-on training regarding operation and maintenance of process equipment.
  • Participate in model reviews, engineering design meetings, and safety-in-design reviews to ensure accessibility, maintenance, and operation of process equipment.
  • Perform control-system factory acceptance tests with clients and client-designated representatives.
  • Perform after-market services such as site inspections, equipment inspections, and operator training.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure executed work reflects technical requirements and company safety standards.
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future outage reference.
  • Perform specific programmable logic controller and human-machine interface activities, including control-system input/output checkout, system networking, program upload/download, ladder logic and function-block work, code troubleshooting, and writing simple logic.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in commissioning, construction, or services.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Mechanical hands-on experience and ability to read and interpret drawings, particularly for water treatment equipment such as pumps, valves, instrumentation, relief valves, regulators, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to plan multiple priorities and focus on the most important ones.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, and situations.
  • Training in lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Operating experience with water treatment equipment, including reverse osmosis systems, ion exchange systems, hot water loops, and elect deionization.
