Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a journalist, editor, editorial leader, or senior thought leadership professional in a top-tier media, policy, financial, business, or professional services environment.
  • Significant experience writing, editing, or placing articles, op-eds, essays, or bylined commentary in highly respected external publications.
  • Experience working directly with CEOs, senior executives, public figures, or recognized experts to develop publishable arguments in their voice.
  • Knowledge of and interest in multiple industries, disciplines, geographies, and the ways they intersect.
  • Experience leading or managing writers, editors, contributors, or cross-functional editorial teams.
  • Proven ability to work with designers, photographers, and videographers.
  • First-class writing and editing skills, including the ability to develop publishable work from initial draft through final fact-checking and copyediting under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to identify the core argument in complex research, sharpen the thesis, and craft a clear, timely, persuasive narrative for senior audiences.
  • Strong news instincts and knowledge of the articles, essays, and ideas that appeal to editors and meet publication standards.
  • Ability to work with partners and organizational leaders to identify original insights and turn them into publishable materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge and improve ideas diplomatically while building trust and momentum.

  • Experience using emerging artificial intelligence tools to improve editorial quality, accelerate research and production, strengthen collaboration, or create new forms of content and audience engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Oliver Wyman to define a strategic agenda of content topics supporting the Forum’s positioning and objectives.
  • Identify the Forum’s strongest ideas and shape them into clear, differentiated points of view for senior business, policy, and media audiences.
  • Write, edit, and develop op-eds, essays, reports, and articles to top-tier journalism standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and subject-matter experts to turn research, client insight, and market intelligence into compelling public arguments.
  • Work with communications and media relations colleagues to identify tier-one placement options and develop pitches.
  • Identify and support Oliver Wyman Forum content partnership efforts and contribute content to increase distribution of Forum insights, analytics, and interactive tools across channels.
  • Work with research, consulting, marketing, design, knowledge management, events, and information technology colleagues to package editorial and visual or interactive content.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of writers and editors, ensuring clear priorities, editorial discipline, high standards, and shared ambition.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and pipeline across research launches, event-driven campaigns, executive op-eds, and timely short-form commentary.
  • Create efficient editorial processes that improve speed, quality, collaboration, and accountability across stakeholders.
  • Lead artificial intelligence adoption across the editorial function by identifying and testing applications, building team capability, and establishing quality, verification, confidentiality, and governance standards.
  • Track editorial output and placement performance across volume, tier, and reach of coverage, and use the data to sharpen team priorities and standards.

US employers plan 3.2% merit pay rises for 2027 amid economic uncertainty

US employers plan to maintain moderate salary increases in 2027, according to Marsh's Mercer QuickPulse survey of 1,001 organisations. Base salary merit increases are projected at 3.2%, with total salary increases at 3.5%, marking four consecutive years of similar rates. Economic uncertainty continues influencing compensation decisions, with 57% of employers expecting at least moderate impact. High Tech (3.8%), Banking (3.7%), and Energy (3.6%) lead in merit budgets, whilst Consumer Goods (2.9%) and Healthcare (3.0%) lag behind. Employers expect to promote 8.4% of their workforce in 2027, down from 8.6% in 2026. Off-cycle salary adjustments remain common, with 64% of organisations providing them. AI adoption in compensation planning is growing, with 70% of organisations reporting some automation, primarily for market pricing recommendations and benchmarking.

Marsh beats Q1 estimates with $7.6B revenue, $3.29 EPS as organic growth hits 5%

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
