About the company

Real Alloy recycles aluminum scrap and production by-products into alloys for industrial manufacturers, with metal chemistry matched to each customer's needs. Its services cover scrap collection through finished metal delivery, including molten aluminum that customers use without running their own melt shops. The company blends scrap with additives and melts it into cast or wrought alloys sold as liquid metal, ingots, or larger solid blocks. It earns money by selling metal and charging fees to process customer-owned scrap, and mechanically treats material that cannot go directly into a furnace. Real Alloy began operating under its name in 2015 and is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

What believers are saying

  • Real Alloy reaches steelmakers too: its deoxidizers remove impurities during steel production.
  • Internal careers cross departments: Real Alloy's Amy Orosz describes moving from payables through quality to Goodyear plant management.
  • Carbon data supports sales: Real Alloy's October 2025 audit report documents Coldwater's tool for calculating individual product footprints.

What critics are saying

  • Worker safety needs scrutiny: February 2026 inspectors cited Real Alloy's Kentucky plant for failing to secure raised loads.
  • Water reporting drew enforcement: EPA's May 2026 notice alleged inaccurate reports at Real Alloy's Friendly plant.
  • Supplier checks needed work: Real Alloy's October 2025 audit report found Coldwater lacked a conflict-zone risk system.

What makes Real Alloy unique

  • Real Alloy widens usable scrap inputs: its own patented furnace designs process heavily contaminated aluminum.
  • Alloy sorting precedes melting: Real Alloy's Steele plant cleans scrap and packages it by aluminum grade.
  • Real Alloy makes furnace ingredients too: Rock Creek produces fluxes and slag conditioners alongside aluminum granules.
