Requirements
- Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound program is required.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography registration is required, or the candidate must be registry eligible and obtain registration within one year of hire.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
- The position may require overtime and on-call responsibilities.
- The position requires the ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes.
- Perform sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
- Record test results, inspect and maintain equipment, and order supplies when needed.
- Review physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedures.
- Communicate the patient's pre- and post-procedure condition to the obstetrics and gynecology nursing team when necessary.
- Perform ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection in patients with high-risk indications.
Desired Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in ultrasound is preferred.
