Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain an NMLS State License or Federal NMLS Registration.
  • At least 1 year of experience in real estate and/or mortgage.
  • Strong entrepreneurial and business development or sales experience and skills.
  • Knowledge of FHA, FNMA, and FHLMS underwriting guidelines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations.
  • Business acumen and judgment concerning bank mortgage products, policies, and procedures.
  • Needs analysis skills, including analyzing customer income and debts.
  • Interpersonal, persuasive, influencing, and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships and solicit business from referral partners such as realtors, builders, bank colleagues, attorneys, and CPAs.
  • Collect and analyze prospects' income, assets, and liabilities to advise them on appropriate mortgage products and other products and services.
  • Sell and originate family residential loans within predetermined bank and investor guidelines and rates.
  • Analyze customers' financial profiles and identify appropriate mortgage programs.
  • Follow up with applicants and secure information needed to process and underwrite loans, including conducting site visits when needed.
  • Assist potential borrowers in successfully qualifying for financing.
  • Achieve volume and/or unit production targets.
  • Work cooperatively with cross-functional teams, community-based organizations, title companies, and referral partners.
  • Cross-sell bank products where applicable.
  • Provide customer service and support at bank-sponsored events.
  • Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, the Company's Compliance Policy, and external compliance requirements.
  • Travel occasionally for training and team meetings and periodically within the market as needed.
  • Work in a Midland office when required for collaboration and customer support.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Weber brings more than 15 years of finance leadership experience spanning financial planning and analysis, strategic operations and executive decision support. Stephanie Sams Promoted to Director of Branch Banking; Julie Withers Named District Manager at Midland States Bank EFFINGHAM, Ill. - June 17, 2026 - Midland States Bank is pleased to announce two leadership promotions within its Branch Banking team: Stephanie Sams to Director of Branch Banking, and Julie Withers to District Manager. Sams brings over 27 years of financial services experience to her new role, including 15 years at Midland States Bank. During her tenure, she advanced through a range of positions, from Customer Service Representative to District Manager for the Southern District. She also served as interim District Manager in other regions, providing leadership support to 30 branches across Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois, and the St. Louis metro area. Sams will help drive strategy and customer experience across Midland's branch network, supporting teams and promoting consistent, high-quality service. Midland States Bancorp reports $16.2M Q1 profit after $143.2M loss year prior

Midland States Bancorp reported net income available to common shareholders of $16.2 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2026, recovering from a net loss of $5.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Effingham, Illinois-based company posted adjusted earnings of $17.2 million, or $0.79 per diluted share. Net interest margin expanded to 3.91% from 3.74% in the prior quarter, driven primarily by lower funding costs. The Community Bank loan portfolio increased $68.8 million, or 8.3% annualised, though total loans decreased $13.4 million due to anticipated runoff in specialty finance and non-core portfolios. Credit quality improved, with nonperforming assets declining to 0.91% of total assets. The company repurchased $7.8 million of common stock during the quarter, with common equity tier 1 capital reaching 9.98%.
