Requirements
  • A current and valid Certified Public Accountant license is required.
  • The candidate must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and respective state societies.
  • The candidate must have 5–7 years of experience in public accounting or a relevant position, demonstrating progression in complexity, scope, and number of projects.
  • The Certified Public Accountant license requirement may be waived in lieu of comparable experience and demonstrated expertise.
  • The candidate must prepare and review tax returns, standard accounting work papers and statements, and other financial reports.
  • The candidate must be familiar with tax and audit concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • The candidate must maintain in-depth knowledge of accounting and tax matters and specialized industries or functional and technical areas.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain tax records and prepare tax returns, related schedules, and related reports.
  • Supervise and review the work of others.
  • Ensure high-quality client service through in-person and virtual communications.
  • Apply project management skills to plan and coordinate multiple engagements.
  • Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.
  • Comply with firm policies and procedures.
  • Recognize complex technical issues, reach appropriate conclusions, and apply authoritative support for those conclusions.
  • Maintain accurate time and expense records to ensure proper client billing.
  • Anticipate problem areas and questions that may arise during projects.
  • Use an established network of business relationships to generate new sales opportunities and develop the client base.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the technical aspects of the job, including necessary systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge through written and verbal communication and continuously develop communication skills.
  • Build knowledge of the firm's industry lines and service offerings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
