We are looking for a talented Electrical Designer II to join our dedicated team at our office located in Albany, New York.
In this role, you will work with a team of Designers, Architects, and Engineers to develop design concepts, which are incorporated into a final product to the client’s specifications. You will primarily works on technical aspects of a project.
Position Responsibilities
- Assists Project Lead with design development and documentation.
- Uses computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
- Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
- Sets up views/sheets within Revit or AutoCAD for use on a project, utilizing established naming conventions and drawing lists prepared by the Project Lead.
- Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
- Interacts with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent.
- Researches equipment selections from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
- Performs basic engineering/design calculations, such as motor feeder sizing, conversion from HP and kW to amps and kVA, branch circuit and panel loads, and voltage drop.
- Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
- Coordinates design work with related engineering disciplines.
- Attends job and construction meetings and participates in the coordination of the work.
- Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.
- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2-4 years of previous design experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Technical or Associate Degree in design from an accredited technical institution or college.
- Experience in the use of engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks).
- Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes.

The salary offered for this role is between $70,000 and $93,000, but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.
