Requirements
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems, including algorithm problems.
- Experience with NoSQL stores.
- Experience designing massively large-scale distributed systems and products.
- Ability to work with multiple product, engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to produce actionable application and product designs and frameworks.
- Ability to assist in determining the fit between business and information requirements and existing standard applications.
- Ability to analyze alternative technology solutions, including buy, build, and reuse options, and assist in developing business cases for deviations from standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural frameworks and strategies for assigned major application or process areas to meet business and application requirements.
- Define the roadmap and transition steps from the current state to future application architecture solutions.
- Define and document system boundaries and flows between subsystems.
- Provide internal support to business and engineering staff regarding the client enterprise architecture landscape.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Hadoop, including HDFS and MapReduce.
- Experience with related big data technologies such as Pig, Hive, Mahout, Storm or Spark Streaming, Kafka, Giraph, HBase or Cassandra, Zookeeper, and Oozie.
- Advanced Linux or Unix knowledge, including commands, shell, scripting, and debugging.
