Requirements
- Active state dental hygiene license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Local anesthesia certification is required or preferred, depending on applicability.

- Diagnose and treat periodontal disease according to the standard of care.
- Build patient trust, explain care clearly, recommend treatment, and discuss costs and financing options confidently and without pressure.
- Maintain professional grooming, clean scrubs, and personal hygiene standards.
- Sit for extended periods in a clinical operator position; bend, lean, and reach over patients repeatedly; use both hands with fine motor control and sustained grip; perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements; see clearly at close range, including small details, depth, and color; hear and speak clearly while masked; lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds; wear required protective equipment for the full shift; and work safely with exposure to blood, saliva, radiation, disinfectants, and dental materials.
- Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene appropriate for close patient contact, including avoiding strong odors and fragrances.
- Offers are contingent on satisfactory reference, license, and background checks.
Responsibilities
- Provide prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planing.
- Complete full periodontal charting and assess periodontal health at every appropriate visit.
- Take and review radiographs and intraoral images.
- Educate patients on oral health and explain the reasons behind recommended care.
- Co-diagnose with the dentist and build treatment plans for periodontal and restorative care.
- Present treatment plans chairside and explain what patients need and why in plain language.
- Discuss fees, insurance estimates, and payment or financing options with patients.
- Administer local anesthesia where certified and permitted by state law.
- Apply fluoride, sealants, and adjunctive therapies.
- Schedule each patient's next recare visit.
- Document accurately and completely in patient records.
- Maintain the operatory and follow OSHA and infection-control standards.
- Complete a 90-day introductory period as a new team member.

- Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing patient financing.
- Experience with Denticon practice management software.
