Requirements
  • Proven experience as Principal Developer or hands-on Solution Architect in a digital product environment with a large customer base.
  • Demonstrable experience designing anti-corruption layers or strangler-pattern integrations over an existing or legacy platform, keeping a clean domain model independent of the underlying system.
  • Experience working with the latest AI software development tools such as Claude Code/Codex, skills and specs.
  • Strong knowledge of building cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns and integration design.
  • Strong, current hands-on experience with a backend stack such as Java/Spring or ASP.NET for building web services, APIs and web apps
  • Solid understanding of how mobile and web frontends (e.g. React Native, Next.js) consume APIs, enough to design composition patterns and BFF boundaries for them.
  • Experience designing for multiple countries or markets from a single platform core.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security-by-design, and production operations.
  • Professional written and spoken English is required. Spanish, Italian or French are considered as a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Own the overall architecture for the platform, documenting key decisions in ADRs and setting coding standards and architecture patterns used across the squads.
  • Own the canonical experience API and the anti-corruption layer— the design authority that keeps legacy structure, identifiers and state from leaking into customer-facing services.
  • Own the country-abstraction model so the platform runs as one deployment with country as configuration, protecting the scalability of the global core as new markets are added.
  • Lead the design and guide implementation of mobile apps, APIs, backend services, integrations, data flows, and frontend composition patterns.
  • Lead on the use of code-gen AI tools within an Agile framework, setting technical standards, implementing skills, and defining specs.
  • Lead technical design reviews and establish quality gates across backend, frontend, data, and QA activities.
  • Partner with the Product Owners and the Platform Engineer to balance speed, technical debt, security, regulatory needs, and long-term platform scalability.
  • Coordinate with the legacy platform team, third-party providers (billing/switching, energy-asset connectivity) and internal architecture/security teams.
  • Mentor engineers and promote modern engineering practices: AI code gen, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure coding.
Desired Qualifications
  • Spanish, Italian or French language skills are considered a plus

MET Group trades and wholesales natural gas across Europe, using a network that spans 30 national markets and 22 trading hubs, and it owns gas storage capacity including a 2 TWh operator to balance supply. Its size and mix of trading, storage, and energy infrastructure differentiate it from peers that focus on a single area. Its goal is to support the clean energy transition by building a diversified portfolio that combines gas trading, storage, and renewable energy assets across Europe.

MET Group closes oversubscribed $1.3B credit facility for sales and trading

MET Group closed a €1.2 billion credit facility for its sales and trading segment, with the financing transaction significantly oversubscribed. ING Bank coordinated the arrangement, whilst Coöperatieve Rabobank, Natixis CIB, and Société Générale served as lead bookrunners. High market demand allowed the company to expand the facility size by €100 million. The contract includes an option to raise the total limit to €1.8 billion. Japanese bank MUFG joined the syndicate as a new partner. According to MET, the transaction provides financial flexibility for the company's strategy and helps build its supply network around customer needs. Ankur Khera, MET Sales & Trading CFO, said the strong oversubscription reflects continued trust from banking partners and endorses the company's strategy and disciplined growth approach.
