Requirements

  • One to three years of experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Annual certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent coverage of all self-checkout activities, ensure accurate sales capture, and provide guest service in a safe environment.
  • Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout, open additional checkout options, request assistance, and assist cashiers with overrides and questions.
  • Create and manage daily schedules and control sheets, dictate break and lunch plans, maintain front-end coverage, and monitor cash-control procedures.
  • Assist the Front End Leader with ownership of auxiliary front-end lines of business such as gift cards and candy.
  • Take ownership of the front end when the Front-End Leader is not on duty and act as the point person.
  • Ensure daily completion of compliance activities and own assigned compliance topics, including anti-money laundering, scale and PIN-pad checks, and WIC.
  • Order front-end supplies while being conscious of cost.
  • Train and coach Front End Team Members on efficiencies, best practices, service culture, and loss-prevention tactics using tools such as the Cashier Coach Pad.
  • Support the Front End Leader with special projects or champion assignments.
