Willkie continues Chicago growth with addition of litigation partner Kruti Trivedi.

Willkie continues Chicago growth with addition of litigation partner Kruti Trivedi. October 12, 2026 Chicago, IL (October 12, 2026) - Willkie today announced that Kruti Trivedi, a trial lawyer who has led high-stakes matters as both a senior in-house counsel at one of the world's largest financial institutions and a federal prosecutor, has joined the Firm as a partner in the Litigation Department. She is based in the Chicago office. Kruti brings more than 20 years of combined experience in government and in-house counsel roles, handling complex litigation, investigations, regulatory matters and crises. Kruti joins Willkie from JPMorganChase & Co., where she led and supervised high-profile and high-risk matters and crises for the global financial institution. Prior to her work at JPMorganChase & Co. Kruti served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, where she conducted investigations and prosecutions, argued appeals and tried ten jury trials, including those involving fraud, bribery and corruption. Craig C. Martin, Chairman, Americas, commented: "Kruti is a first-rate lawyer whose experience gives her a deep understanding of what clients' need from outside counsel. Having served as a trusted advisor managing high stakes matters and crises from inside a Fortune 20 company, she knows how corporate legal departments and law firms can best work as one integrated team to provide practical, strategic and responsive advice. Her addition will deepen our ability to serve clients in their most consequential matters, and her background as a former Assistant United States Attorney further strengthens our trial, investigations and white-collar capabilities in Chicago and firmwide." Kruti commented: "Having spent years on the client side, I know how much it matters to have outside counsel who have a deep understanding of not just the law, but also the business and the stakes. I'm excited to offer that perspective to the Firm's clients as we work together on their toughest, most impactful issues. Moreover, I have been impressed by what Willkie has built in Chicago and by the talent across the Firm. Collaborating with colleagues on this global platform that excels at providing clients precisely what they need from the boardroom to the courtroom is incredibly compelling, and I look forward to contributing to the growth of the litigation practice and the Firm." Prior to her government service, Kruti served as a law clerk to the Honorable David H. Coar. Kruti received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her A.B. from Princeton University. Willkie profiled in The Lawyer's Global Elite 2026.

Willkie profiled in The Lawyer's Global Elite 2026. News. October 5, 2026 Willkie has been profiled as part of The Lawyer's Global Elite 2026, a report that examines the leading law firms in complex transactions, with a focus on strategic M&A, sector focus, talent investment, and strategy. The feature highlights the strength of Willkie's corporate platform across North America and Europe. The Lawyer identified Willkie's New York corporate team as the second largest of the Global Elite firms in New York. Willkie was also among the top 10 firms for corporate lateral hires in New York and London since 2024, and for corporate team promotions in London and the US. Adam Turteltaub, Co-Chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, sees the Firm's transatlantic structure, with roughly 340 corporate lawyers in the US, 50 in London, and another 100 across continental Europe, as a differentiator among elite firms and one of Willkie's advantages in M&A work. "We continue to be opportunistic," Adam said of Willkie's approach to lateral hiring. "That has been a strategic focus of ours for the last decade and will continue to be for the foreseeable future." Unlike some of its US competitors, the Firm's transatlantic approach extends beyond a New York-London one - Willkie's Paris office is "one of the leading corporate practices in France" and its German practice "has developed into one of the more-self-sufficient corporate practices of the international firms operating in Europe," The Lawyer noted.
