Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry is required, including thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of production equipment, utility equipment, and facilities management.
  • Experience in team management is required.
  • Experience with small- to medium-sized plant expansion projects is required.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance is required.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is required.
  • Leadership and team management skills are required.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities are required.
  • Good communication and coordination skills, including listening skills, are required.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems is required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure timely repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Minimize equipment downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate emergency breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Define department targets such as mean time to repair, mean time between failures, and preventive maintenance implementation key performance indicators, and achieve those targets.
  • Implement systems, procedures, and processes for the department's effective and transparent operations.
  • Implement 5S, Six Sigma, ISO systems, and continual improvement programs for the department in line with global objectives.
  • Ensure that all applicable statutory compliances are implemented for the department and organization.
  • Develop the vendor base for operational support and establish long-term open purchase orders for emergency service support.
  • Manage spare parts to mitigate machine downtime.
  • Coach and mentor maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff.
  • Assign tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Identify team training needs through a skill matrix, develop and implement the training plan, deliver training, and conduct assessments.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment.
  • Develop a succession plan for yourself and each team member.
  • Empower the team with appropriate responsibilities and accountability.
  • Create effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, and cross-functional team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, company policies, and other applicable requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Prepare the emergency evacuation plan, create the emergency response team, provide training, and conduct periodic mock drills.
  • Conduct periodic audits and Gemba walks, and ensure effective closure of identified improvement actions.
  • Develop and implement system-based documentation as a repository for maintenance records, reports, and service records.
  • Ensure timely compliance with equipment calibrations, test reports, and profiles.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
  • Optimize maintenance costs without compromising quality and safety.
  • Optimize spare-parts inventory while keeping breakdowns within mean time to repair and mean time between failures targets.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Analyze equipment failures using statistical quality tools and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction as part of continual improvement.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment while fulfilling new machine acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in plant improvement and automation projects.
  • Implement total productive maintenance for the plant.
  • Conduct operational excellence health checks for the department at regular intervals and follow the global scoring template.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in total productive maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in maintenance management, including safety practices.
  • Experience with automation systems, computer numerical control, and programmable logic controllers.
