Requirements
  • Completion of an MD degree.
  • Board certification in the appropriate medical specialty and good standing with state and local licensing and credentialing boards.
  • At least 5 years of experience in undergraduate medical education.
  • Strong commitment to the School of Medicine’s mission in education, research, clinical care, and community engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, public speaking, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student and applicant information.
  • Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, manage time effectively, remain detail-oriented, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to remain free of outside influence in the selection process of future School of Medicine students.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education and as a member of the School of Medicine leadership team.
  • Provide oversight of recruitment, screening, and selection activities for medical program applicants.
  • Represent the School of Medicine nationally and oversee off-campus admissions marketing and recruitment events.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the MD program to premedical advisors, educational institutions, and the broader academic community.
  • Ensure applicants experience respect, transparency, and timely, accurate, and effective communication throughout the admissions process.
  • Travel and plan marketing and recruiting events as needed.
  • Evaluate and assess the admissions program annually by collecting, analyzing, and reporting admissions and matriculation data.
  • Manage and supervise admissions personnel in day-to-day functions.
  • Direct the admissions cycle, including application review, interview coordination, candidate evaluation, and matriculation processes.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship, and oversight for the recruitment and retention of screeners, interviewers, and committee members.
  • Chair the Executive Admissions Committee.
  • Chair the Assessment Subcommittee to the Executive Admissions Committee.
  • Participate in the Pathways and Steering Subcommittees to the Executive Admissions Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and accreditation-related, regulatory, and legal standards.
  • Oversee the Office of Admissions budget and finances.
  • Attend appropriate non-admissions undergraduate medical education committee meetings as an ex-officio member.
  • Collaborate with undergraduate medical education offices to support the transition from admissions to medical school.
  • Collaborate with students and student leaders on admissions matters.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with accreditation standards, guidelines, and educational outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between applicants, Financial Services, and scholarship committees to streamline scholarship and financial aid information.
  • Use appropriate technology in all functions and perform other duties assigned by the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education.
Desired Qualifications
  • Rank of Associate Professor or Professor, on a tenure or non-tenure track.
  • Previous undergraduate medical education leadership experience.
