Requirements
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative, United States Department of Agriculture, state and federal regulations, company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Management, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Have previous Global Food Safety Initiative, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures experience in the meat industry.
  • Have at least 5 years of manufacturing or management-related experience in a food production and sanitation environment.
  • Have experience developing and managing training programs and understanding diverse learning styles and levels of education.
  • Demonstrate the ability to increase efficiency and reduce loss.
  • Use and drive shop-floor control metrics to maintain and improve performance.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports.
  • Have problem-solving and statistical skills.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Pass a background check, drug test, and E-Verify Form I-9 verification.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety guidelines are met.
  • Assist plant management in meeting and increasing production output and efficiencies.
  • Maintain quality control standards while adhering to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points guidelines.
  • Ensure food safety and security regarding the manufacturing, handling, and storage of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods.
  • Control loss, minimize or eliminate downtime, and improve product yield.
  • Coordinate training, scheduling, and labor management.
  • Supervise the packaging of meat products ranging from whole body to skinless, boneless meat while meeting finished-product internal and United States Department of Agriculture criteria.
