Requirements
  • For the Staff Psychologist pathway, hold a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.
  • For the Staff Psychologist pathway, have five years of total clinical practice, including experience gained throughout educational training.
  • Be licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in Maryland within one year of hire.
  • For the Counselor pathway, hold a master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • For the Counselor pathway, have two years of clinical experience in an ambulatory mental health setting.
  • For the Counselor pathway, be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in Maryland.
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors may be considered with at least 2,000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical work and the ability to obtain an LCSW-C or LCPC license within one year.
  • Have knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.
  • Have knowledge of group psychodynamics and supervision.
  • Have oral and written communication skills.
  • Have skill in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Be able to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Submit a resume, cover letter, and list of references.
  • Complete employment eligibility verification and provide documents establishing identity and work authorization as required by federal immigration law.
Responsibilities
  • Provide services to students and the University community.
  • Offer individual and group psychotherapy and counseling.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessment and psychological and career testing.
  • Provide consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention.
  • Foster the mental health, academic progress, and career development of University students through psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions.
