- Must not have been employed in the last year as an administrator with another operation at the time an enforcement action was taken against that business, as further described in company compliance policies.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines governing home care office operations.
- Must have basic technology skills, including operating a mobile device.
- Must maintain a valid driver license issued by the state of current residence.
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law.
- Must be able to travel by personal vehicle up to 25% of the time.
- For clinical roles, must maintain a valid clinical license under state requirements or applicable compact nurse license rules.
- Must maintain CPR certification as required by the position.
- Must have the oral communication, written communication, English fluency, and active listening abilities relevant to the role.
- Must demonstrate intermediate technology skills, especially in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Except for designated full-time remote positions, in-office attendance is essential to supervision, teamwork, task completion, and other position objectives.
- State-specific requirements may apply: Colorado and Texas require specified administrator training during the first 12 months and at least 12 annual clock hours of health administration seminar or approved-provider education.
- In Connecticut, qualifying options include a master's degree in nursing with an active state nursing license and at least one year of supervisory or administrative health-care experience; a master's degree in public health or administration concentrated in health services administration and at least one year of such experience; a bachelor's degree in nursing with an active state nursing license and at least two years of such experience; a bachelor's degree in administration concentrated in health services administration and at least two years of such experience; a Connecticut-licensed physician with at least one year of such experience; or specified qualifying continuous prior home health agency administrator employment. The administrator must serve only one agency.
- In Delaware, must have a bachelor's degree and five years of home health care experience plus one year of home health supervisory experience, or be a registered nurse with five years of health care experience plus one year of supervisory experience.
- In Florida, the administrator must serve only one agency, or may manage up to five agencies within one geographic service area or immediately contiguous counties with identical controlling interest.
- In Illinois, must have at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health provider program, or meet public health administrator requirements.
- In Kansas, the administrator must reside within the provider's service area.
- In Louisiana, must have three years of management experience in health care service delivery.
- In Maryland, must have education in health services or administration, evidenced by being a physician, registered nurse, or college graduate with a bachelor's degree in a health-related field, and at least one year of supervisory experience in hospital, home health, or public health program management.
- In Oklahoma, must possess an Oklahoma administrator license and complete 12 continuing education units per year.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the local chief executive agent.
- Lead the local provider or providers in improving care for the communities they serve and contribute to the company's overall success.
- Ensure daily execution of operations.
- Manage ongoing operations, services, personnel performance, and office management.
Desired Qualifications
- A licensed physician, registered nurse, licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator is highly preferred.
- At least one year of previous experience in a management position is preferred.
- Previous experience in a home health care or hospice program is preferred.
- Previous experience using Homecare Homebase (HCHB) is preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills to facilitate communication with patients and caregivers, improve service delivery, and support positive patient outcomes are preferred.
