Requirements
  • A J.D. degree from an American Bar Association-approved law school is required.
  • Active membership in good standing of a state bar is required.
  • Prior immigration law experience is required, with 3–6 years of immigration experience.
  • Computer skills are required, including typing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, document management using Dropbox, and email using Microsoft Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Handle client escalations independently and escalate questions to legal leadership according to standard operating procedures and when firm risk is identified.
  • Escalate firm risk and policy-related questions to legal leadership for review and resolution.
  • Ensure scripts, frequently asked questions, and client communication processes are documented, current, and accurate.
  • Surface refund or contract issues to the appropriate owners and route sensitive client escalations appropriately.
  • Partner with Staff Attorneys to maintain current legal guidance and document changes to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services policy and firm standards in workflows, training materials, and knowledge bases.
  • Meet established goals while supporting firmwide operational priorities.
  • Coordinate legal training, reinforce existing training and refreshers, and ensure consistent application of new guidance across operational teams.
  • Perform legal research on immigration law topics.
  • Serve as the legal subject matter expert for operational projects, supporting process mapping, policy alignment, and implementation within assigned teams.
  • Support process documentation and continuous-improvement projects within the department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual English and Spanish ability is preferred.
  • Experience using a case-management software system is preferred.
