  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required
  • Membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 10+ years of attorney experience. Prior inhouse and litigation experience a plus

Responsibilities
  • Lead the employment law function globally, including U.S. and Asia regions
  • Identify how changes in the law impact company policies and practices and partner with clients to implement practical solutions
  • Provide advice and counsel to all HR teams and leaders across the organization on a broad spectrum of topics such as wage and hour, payroll, benefits, hiring, performance management, internal investigations, leaves of absence, discipline, terminations, employee classification, non-competes, and employee privacy
  • Provide expert legal advice related to the company's documents, including employment agreements, contracts, company policies, and employee handbooks
  • Oversee and manage outside litigation counsel and related legal budgets
  • Oversee and manage all agency charges, government investigations, audits, and pre-litigation disputes
  • Formulate and execute litigation strategy (including administrative proceedings), discovery, motion practice, and trial
  • Develop and conduct training programs for HR Business Partners, employees, and people managers
  • Implement, oversee, and maintain a structured process for managing Brooks' independent contractors/contingent workers, including guidance for transitioning to full time employment or pausing contracts
  • Be a leader on the Legal team, acting as a mentor to teammates and training and mentoring non-attorneys regarding legal concepts and employment practices
