The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America. With something for everyone, our event offers a wide variety of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!
The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Be a part of this summer tradition and help us inspire Canadians and create memories.
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Friends of the CNE, the Friends of the CNE Supervisor is responsible for a group of approximately 125 volunteers. This team of volunteers welcomes our guests to the grounds, distributes daily handouts, provides directional and general information on the CNE, and assist staff with various receptions and events during the 18 days of the CNE.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with volunteer management experience to assist in leading this high energy team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of training materials and training delivery for 100 volunteers prior to the fair
- Assist with supervision of volunteers during the fair including sign in/sign out, conducting safety briefings, and coaching
- Provide input to Senior Supervisor related to volunteer performance
- Provide leadership, assistance, and coaching to volunteers
- Ensure CNE policies and procedures are followed, including those around maintaining a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Experience working with volunteers preferred

- Outstanding command of the English language, both verbal and written
- G2 or G class driver’s license
Special Conditions
- Ability to navigate throughout entirety of CNE grounds
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in all weather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)
- May be required to dress in appropriate uniform
