Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A proven track record as a senior IT leader, such as a CIO, VP IT, or equivalent, in a global health technology, medical devices, or digital health company is required; experience in patient monitoring, connected devices, or clinical informatics is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise platforms and experience with ERP transformation in organizations with subscription and recurring-revenue business models is required.
  • A strong grasp of clinical IT interoperability, including HL7 FHIR and IHE, medical device cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements, including FDA, MDR, and HIPAA, is required.
  • Experience with cloud-to-edge architectures, real-time data systems, and IoT or connected device platforms is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at the intersection of business and technology in a matrixed, multi-business-unit organization is required.
  • Strong financial discipline, including experience with consumption-based IT charging models and investment governance, is required.
  • Demonstrated success as an AI and data champion or equivalent, identifying and monetizing AI use cases with the business, building and leading AI/data teams, establishing governed data foundations, and partnering with a central AI organization or center of excellence to scale AI solutions responsibly, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment; candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa now or in the future will not be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver the Connected Care business unit's IT strategy in alignment with its commercial targets, clinical and product innovation plans, and the Group IT three-pillar model: AI and Data Factory, Platform Operations, and Digital Product Engineering.
  • Serve as the business unit CEO's IT counterpart, translating business, clinical, and field needs into funded, sequenced commitments and holding to them.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise platforms within the business unit while making explicit trade-offs for service contracts, installed-base management, order management, and workflow integration.
  • Shape the business unit's digital product engineering agenda with its leaders, ensuring AI and machine-learning product capabilities use shared services from the AI and Data Factory rather than duplicating central capabilities.
  • Set IT direction for the services business, including field service, remote service, and associated recurring-revenue models.
  • Govern the business unit IT portfolio across Run and Improve, maintaining service stability for mission-critical patient monitoring systems and delivering transformation programs on time and within budget.
  • Lead the business unit's participation in the SAP S/4 transformation and own business-unit process design for subscription-based business models, installed-base management, and service logistics.
  • Manage business unit IT budgets under the consumption-based charging model with transparent cost attribution and predictable financial performance.
  • Oversee Connected Care-specific vendor and partner relationships, including clinical IT vendors, interoperability partners, and cloud/edge infrastructure providers.
  • Own and communicate the business unit AI agenda, its plan, and its expected value.
  • Work with business, clinical, commercial, and service stakeholders to identify, qualify, and rank AI use cases and maintain a governed pipeline with business cases, value at stake, and adoption measures.
  • Build and lead a business-unit AI team, including AI product owners, data engineers, machine-learning and generative AI engineers, and translators who work across clinical workflows and models.
  • Organize the business unit's data estate into productized data assets with quality, lineage, stewardship, and integration into the enterprise data mesh.
  • Work with the AI and Data Factory to advance business-unit use cases, including generative AI in workflows; apply AI to IT operations such as monitoring, incident triage, and agentic workflows.
  • Use the AI and Data Factory and AI Center of Excellence platforms, reference architectures, MLOps and LLMOps tooling, and responsible-AI guardrails; communicate business-unit requirements to enterprise teams rather than rebuilding shared capabilities.
  • Raise AI literacy across the business unit through enablement, reusable patterns, prompt and solution libraries, and support for clinical, commercial, service, developer, and citizen-developer teams.
  • Coordinate with enterprise AI and data teams in both directions, escalating business-unit needs, communicating enterprise capabilities, and integrating security, privacy, responsible-AI, and regulatory requirements early.
  • Ensure IT systems and connected device ecosystems meet FDA, MDR, HIPAA, and healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 FHIR and IHE profiles, with particular attention to clinical device cybersecurity.
  • Own the business unit IT risk posture, including medical device cybersecurity, data privacy, business continuity, and compliance with Philips' enterprise governance framework.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and the AI Safety and Ethics Lead to ensure AI-driven clinical features meet regulatory validation, explainability, and bias-monitoring requirements.
  • Build the team and shift its focus from project delivery and application support toward product management, AI operations, data engineering, and platform engineering through hiring and reskilling.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, innovation, and Impact with Care.
  • Hire and retain technology talent.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
  • Experience in patient monitoring, connected devices, or clinical informatics is preferred.
  • Exceptional stakeholder-management skills, including influencing business-unit leadership, central IT, and the CDAIO organization without direct authority, are desired.
  • A leadership style characterized by accountability, patient-centered thinking, and alignment with Philips' Impact with Care values is desired.
