  • Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, adapt to changing operational demands, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • Physical ability to perform commercial kitchen duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting supplies in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive culinary leadership experience managing high-volume institutional or campus dining.
  • Computer skills.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification within six months of hire.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, standing, repetitive motion, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in environments involving extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic culinary leadership for all campus dining operations.
  • Oversee menu development, food production, food safety compliance, staff supervision, and quality control across residential dining, retail venues, and catering operations.
  • Ensure high-quality food service aligned with department and institutional goals, student satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Exercise direct supervisory responsibility for the Sous Chef, Catering, and Production Manager.
  • Exercise dotted-line authority over the Chef Manager, Commons, and the corresponding supervisory organization on culinary and production matters.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining food and production labor budgets.
