Requirements
  • At least 10 years of supervisory experience on commercial construction projects.
  • A construction background and training are required.
  • Ability to work in changing work environments, including variable weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation is required for travel to and from jobsites.
  • Ability to move frequently throughout active construction jobsites with uneven terrain and inclement weather.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and personal fall protection.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other objects in multi-story buildings while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl as appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of construction at the project site to ensure completion within budget and schedule and with required quality.
  • Adhere to company safety rules, regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications and analyze construction methods and work sequences.
  • Promote jobsite safety, enforce safe work practices, immediately rectify hazards, and ensure safety procedures are followed by employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Ensure designated safety personnel conduct regular safety inspections and reviews.
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs for onsite work.
  • Create three-week lookahead schedules weekly and assist project management staff with overall schedule updates.
  • Communicate upcoming work with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Coordinate with trade subcontractors and vendors to schedule deliveries and required manpower.
  • Inform project management staff of unusual circumstances or issues that may cause delays.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Field Operations, Foreman, and Project Manager regarding manpower, equipment, and supplies.
  • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, including coordination with third-party surveyors or layout personnel when needed.
  • Supervise subcontractor workmanship to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Review subcontractor shop drawings and field measurements before material fabrication.
  • Purchase authorized miscellaneous jobsite materials, rough hardware, and supplies.
  • Prevent unauthorized extra work or deviations from contract documents and escalate requested changes to the Project Manager for schedule and cost review.
  • Meet with client representatives to discuss project status and identify questions or issues.
  • Relay project information to clients in coordination with project management staff.
  • Supervise Warfel field labor and make recommendations regarding promotions and terminations.
  • Provide performance evaluations for staff as requested.
