Requirements
  • Master or bachelor’s degree in engineering (or international equivalent) with emphasis on Built Environment, Building Services, Marine, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Certified in Fire Safety Engineering or Risk Management Assessor is an added advantage
  • Project Management Certification is an added advantage
  • Professional Engineer (PE) qualifications in design and commissioning are preferred
  • Minimum 8 years related experience to include at least 5 years in a related building services role for hotels or high-end commercial complexes
  • Well versed in Fire life safety equipment and Key Engineering Equipment (Electrical Switchboard distribution, elevators, plumbing and sanitary, ventilation, heating, air-conditioning, etc) testing and commissioning procedures, preferably with hands-on understanding
  • Hotel operations/working experience and experience in a multi-national corporate environment is considered an added advantage
Responsibilities
  • Pre-signing stage, produce Brand Suitability Reports (BSR’s) or Property Investment Plans (PIP’s) that set out the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Brand Safety Systems (BSS) requirements, or local codes where these are more stringent than IHG standards, for all growth projects assigned to you, using thorough understanding of Brand Standards and available property data
  • Post signing stage, perform stage review and assessment of consultant design at concept, preliminary and full design stages, and deliver detailed report on compliance or non-compliance in reflection of the BSR/PIP, applicable Brand Standards and the Technical Handbook (THB) solutions
  • Tender stage, review, assess and report on post-tender documents / reports from the project consultant team and review of any post-tender submittals provided by supplier/contract teams
  • Implementation stage, review and comment on consultants’ designs in terms of economics, design appropriateness, budget and operational issues during renovations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific hotel life cycle and growth; field engineers will conduct site visits and provide reports for review and comment on risk or non-compliance
  • Opening and Post Opening Review, review commissioning, test and inspection certification, as-built/as-installed documentation and operations instructions; ensure compliance with documentation delivered through the build journey and package for delivery to NHOP team; provide data from the database for post-opening review if required
