Researchers browse NSIDC’s holdings on the website and download or order datasets using data access tools, with support to help them use the data. It differentiates itself by offering a large, focused, university-affiliated data center with direct access tools, researcher support, and strong collaborations with Indigenous and international partners. The goal is to broaden understanding of cryospheric change by making data widely accessible and useful for researchers and communities.
