Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in family or women’s health, including experience with a full range of sexual and reproductive health services.
  • Graduate of an approved college or nursing institution with a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, or physician assistant degree.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated dedication to sexual and reproductive health, reproductive justice, and health equity, including operationalizing these principles into practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across a wide spectrum of diversity at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Strong moral code and sense of ethics.
  • Commitment to ensuring patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Interest in professional growth and development through self-directed continuing education, conference and workshop attendance, and professional affiliations.
  • Foundational understanding of structural racism and systems of oppression that contribute to health inequities.
  • Advanced ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work in a computerized office environment, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic practice management systems, and ability to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide sexual and reproductive health care to women, men, and teens under the supervision of the Medical Director and according to evidence-based protocols and applicable regulations.
  • Secure and review complete health histories and accurately record findings.
  • Perform physical examinations, with special emphasis on the reproductive system.
  • Consult with the Medical Director when a client presentation falls outside established guidelines.
  • Provide cancer screening, diagnose sexually transmitted infections, and perform specialized procedures as indicated.
  • Provide health counseling and emotional support throughout care, including teaching positive self-care techniques and supporting treatment decisions.
  • Perform and order diagnostic studies, provide appropriate treatment, and conduct follow-up as necessary.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, and vaginal/KOH preparations, and follow up on abnormal laboratory results.
  • Manage medical and psychosocial referrals and collaborate with community agencies to provide comprehensive care.
  • Provide birth control education and methods, including intrauterine devices and implants.
  • Participate in agency efforts to achieve productivity, growth, and expansion goals.
  • Assist the physician with surgical abortion procedures.
  • Provide the Regional Manager with recommendations for quality and program improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual ability, especially Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Haitian Creole.
  • Experience with abortion, ultrasound, sterilization, analgesia or sedation, and gender-affirming care.
