Requirements
  • A valid Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine license is required.
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association-approved postgraduate residency is required.
  • The applicant must be board certified within five years of residency completion or actively seeking board certification.
  • A current Drug Enforcement Administration certificate is required when requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Basic Life Support cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • A current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is required when requesting obstetric privileges.
  • Additional education may be required for some specialty areas.
  • Pre-hire and annual employee health screening is required.
  • An annual influenza vaccine is required, except for an approved medical or religious exemption; employees with an approved exemption must wear a mask during flu season.
Responsibilities
  • Provide primary medical care services to Sea Mar Community Health Centers patients in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, licensure, and established practice guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate hospital and institutional care as required.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.
  • Prescribe or dispense required medication according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board.
  • Participate in organizing and directing preventive health programs, including immunization, disease detection, disease prevention, and educational programs for patients and community groups, with approval from the Medical Director or Health Center Administrator.
  • Participate in clinical affairs and work with administrative personnel, the Medical Director, and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience.
  • Provide care for special patient groups, including nursing-home or institutionalized patients, when appropriate.
  • Provide clinical supervision to assigned nurses and other professionals.

  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
