Copenhagen's Pandektes raises €13.5 million to build the data infrastructure for AI-powered legal research.

Copenhagen's Pandektes raises €13.5 million to build the data infrastructure for AI-powered legal research. October 5, 2026 Pandektes, a Copenhagen-based LegalTech company specialising in legal research, has raised €13.5 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Alstin Capital, a Munich-based early-stage venture capital firm with a focus on B2B software companies. The round also saw participation from PROfounders, Scale Capital, and existing investors. The Series A follows the company's €2.9 million Seed investment announced last year. "We have rarely seen a market like legal research, where so many end-users would like to switch their core system but historically simply couldn't. Pandektes is building a modern data infrastructure for the entire European legal landscape that makes exactly that possible," said Andreas Schenk, Managing Partner at Alstin Capital. Founded in 2022 by Casper Laursen and Søren Brokær, Pandektes has built a platform that continuously collects, structures, and connects legal information spanning legislation, court decisions, administrative rulings, and other legal sources, and combines it with an organisation's own data. The company says the platform gives legal professionals faster, more reliable access to legal research than existing services. The process of aggregating legal information from thousands of sources, structuring it, and keeping it updated remains complex, which has led to near-monopoly status for local incumbents. Pandektes believes the advancements in AI have fundamentally changed that notion, and its platform is taking on a handful of established players, including LexisNexis, Westlaw, Beck and Karnov. "Building a serious challenger was always deemed impossible. Today, we can collect and make sense of legal information at a scale that was not feasible before. That fundamentally changes what legal research can be," said Laursen, co-founder and CEO at Pandektes. The traction to date suggests Pandektes can move the needle in an industry where switching costs have been high and innovation limited. It is currently active in Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and used by more than 500 law firms, enterprises, and public institutions. The company reports sixfold revenue growth over the past 12 months, and around two-thirds of organisations that trial the platform become paying customers. Pandektes, however, doesn't want to be the LegalTech platform replacing legacy research platforms. It wants to be the foundational data layer for any organisation building legal technology by supplying them with accurate and structured legal data through its API. "We believe the next generation of legal products will only be as good as the data they are built on. To create systems legal professionals can truly trust, that data needs to be structured and optimised from the ground up for AI agents and other AI systems. That is what we work on every day at Pandektes," added Laursen. The new capital will be used to expand the company's footprint across Europe and North America, with the aim of making cross-border legal research consistent and accessible. The company will also use the funding to grow its team and open its technology infrastructure through an API.

LexisNexis Starts MENA Rollout of Protégé Legal AI in the UAE.

LexisNexis Starts MENA Rollout of Protégé Legal AI in the UAE. Covering all seven emirates, the platform summarises Arabic and English case decisions and breaks complex legal tasks into reviewable steps. Get the hottest Fintech Middle East News once a month in your Inbox LexisNexis has launched Lexis+ with Protégé, its legal AI platform, in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The rollout starts in the UAE. The platform helps lawyers with research, analysis and drafting. The launch marks 16 years since LexisNexis brought its first legal research product to the region. Local legal professionals helped build and test the platform. Users can ask legal questions in plain language and get answers from LexisNexis sources. For larger tasks such as due diligence, the platform breaks the work into smaller steps. Users can then review each one. Lawyers can also draft contracts and memos, or upload their own documents to find key issues and build timelines. The platform can translate and summarise case decisions in Arabic and English. On privacy, the company said customer data is never used to train public AI models. Its content covers UAE federal law and all seven emirates, along with regulations and case decisions. This matters, LexisNexis said, because the region mixes federal and emirate laws, free-zone rules, and civil-law and common-law systems. The company sees trust as a bigger barrier to legal AI in MENA than adoption. It said general-purpose tools often lack the source transparency and confidentiality that legal work needs. "For legal teams in MENA, that means answers informed by the relevant jurisdiction, legal hierarchy and terminology. Lexis+(R) with Protégé(TM) brings that content together with AI workflows to support the way lawyers research, analyse and draft," said Lara Salem, Head of Content Strategy at LexisNexis Middle East. "MENA is moving decisively from exploring the potential of AI to putting it to work across high-value, professional environments," said Eric Bonnet-Maes, CEO of LexisNexis. LexisNexis is still testing the platform with local legal professionals. It plans to share validated regional performance data as it becomes available. LexisNexis Risk Solutions and IMS Work to Deliver the Future of Driving Intelligence, Going Beyond Traditional UBI with LexisNexis Drive Metrics and the IMS EdgeSDK. Strategic Relationship Utilizes Embedded On-Device Computing Enabling U.S. Insurers of all Sizes with or without UBI Programs to Take Advantage of Transparent, Cost-Effective Telematics Intelligence ATLANTA, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - LexisNexis(R) Risk Solutions, a leading provider of data and analytics for the insurance and automotive industries, and IMS, a global connected insurance technology company, today announced the integration of the LexisNexis(R) Drive Metrics scoring model into the IMS EdgeSDK(TM) to benefit U.S. auto insurance carriers and consumers through an all-new smartphone-based telematics solution that gives drivers the ability to share driving data with their insurers. This integration enables more insurers to launch or improve existing usage-based insurance (UBI) programs, taking advantage of potentially significant cost savings, 50% or more[1], by eliminating cloud processing and storage fees associated with traditional telematics programs and reinforcing user transparency and data privacy. Integrating the Drive Metrics model into the EdgeSDK redefines how driving data is managed for auto insurance underwriting, supporting more precise risk assessment and more personalized pricing. Driving behavior information stays on the user's device while generating industry-leading scores and attributes that can be quickly incorporated into existing workflows and are consistent across LexisNexis(R) Telematics Solutions. While the collaboration between LexisNexis Risk Solutions and IMS facilitates a more cost-effective way to execute an insurer-led UBI program, it can also support use cases across the insurance continuum, potentially making normalized data accessible and scalable for a deeper understanding of risk and a better experience for consumers, from the point of quote to claim. Key Highlights * The IMS EdgeSDK with the LexisNexis Drive Metrics model can be seamlessly embedded into an existing insurance company app, or an insurer can utilize the IMS white-label app, reducing complexity and promoting scalability across an insurer's portfolio. * The IMS EdgeSDK integrated with the LexisNexis Drive Metrics model improves the operational expense of UBI, reducing costs up to 50% to 80%[2] by eliminating cloud processing and storage fees associated with traditional telematics programs. * Together, IMS EdgeSDK, incorporating the LexisNexis Drive Metrics model, generates driving scores and attributes that can be seamlessly integrated into an insurer's workflow via a single point of execution while keeping the user's data on their smartphone device. * The LexisNexis Drive Metrics model has been shown to provide 79% improvement above[3] standard rating factors. "The innovation of Drive Metrics and the sophistication of EdgeSDK disrupt the status quo, and what makes this approach especially powerful is the potential - smartphone-based driving insights, vehicle-generated telematics and the industry's broadest collection of insurance risk and claims intelligence, all to benefit insurers and consumers," said Jeffery Batiste, senior vice president and general manager, auto and home insurance, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. "Together, these data assets provide a more complete view of risk, helping insurers improve segmentation, strengthen underwriting decisions, streamline operations and increase confidence in the data used throughout the insurance lifecycle." "IMS EdgeSDK and LexisNexis Drive Metrics have the potential to make driving intelligence genuinely mainstream," said Paul Stacy, CEO, IMS. "Together, we're making it possible to put a powerful driving score mechanism into the insurance apps customers already know and use. This gives more drivers the opportunity to use their own driving data to unlock personalized pricing. This is the next-gen approach to usage-based insurance, simple and scalable. It creates a truly scalable foundation for pricing, engagement, and future connected insurance services." Drive Metrics and IMS EdgeSDK together redefine the cost structure of using telematics to assess driving behavior data by combining on-device computing with exclusive analytics from LexisNexis Risk Solutions. The cost and operational challenges of conventional UBI programs have traditionally constrained auto insurers' program growth objectives despite consumer demand for more personalized pricing and insurers' need for driving insights across their portfolios. LexisNexis Risk Solutions launches self-calibrating AI fraud detection tool.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions launches self-calibrating AI fraud detection tool. LexisNexis Risk Solutions has introduced Emailage Adaptive, a self-calibrating artificial intelligence fraud scoring system designed to learn continuously from an organization's transaction data and confirmed fraud outcomes. The product arrives as financial institutions and digital businesses face faster-changing fraud patterns and increasing pressure to reduce friction for legitimate users. TNGlobal has previously covered LexisNexis Risk Solutions research on rising digital attack activity and the growing use of AI in fraud and identity systems. Emailage Adaptive analyzes signals including email, IP address, phone and address data and builds tailored models using an organization's own fraud feedback and industry context. Models recalibrate without manual tuning. The company said the system automatically recalibrates as new fraud patterns are confirmed, reducing the lag associated with manually updating fraud models. In testing cited by LexisNexis Risk Solutions, the system captured around 90 percent of fraud among the highest-risk transactions while reducing false positives by more than 80 percent. Those results come from company testing and should not be treated as universal performance guarantees across every deployment. The platform also provides reason codes intended to show which factors influenced a risk score. LexisNexis Risk Solutions positions this explainability layer as a way for fraud teams to understand automated decisions rather than relying only on a black-box score. Adaptive fraud models depend on feedback quality. Continuous recalibration can reduce manual model maintenance, but it also increases the importance of the data and labels used to train the system. If fraud outcomes are incomplete, delayed or incorrectly classified, an adaptive model may learn from weak feedback. LexisNexis Risk Solutions said Emailage Adaptive relies on a regular flow of customer transaction data, industry trends and substantiated fraud feedback. The system is designed to use those inputs to refine its scoring over time. That makes governance around data quality, review thresholds and model monitoring an important part of any deployment, especially where automated risk scores affect account opening, payment approval or other consequential decisions. Fraud teams are trying to reduce both losses and friction. Fraud controls increasingly have two competing goals: catching more malicious activity while avoiding unnecessary declines or manual reviews for legitimate users. Adaptive models are one response to that problem because they can be updated more frequently than traditional rule sets or manually tuned models. Their practical value, however, depends on whether improvements persist across changing transaction volumes, geographies and fraud types. LexisNexis Risk Solutions launched the product globally in September. The company said the system is designed for organizations that want more automated risk scoring without repeatedly rebuilding fraud models by hand.
