About the job

Requirements
  • Managed engineers directly for a few years, preceded by experience as a strong individual contributor at a venture-backed startup or serious technology company.
  • Coordinated work across teams or substantial parallel workstreams, resolving dependencies and competing demands while keeping ownership with the engineers doing the work.
  • Hired and developed people and made decisions about team shape as the organization scaled or plans changed.
  • Shipped distributed systems, data pipelines, or platform services to production through a team they led.
  • Comfort operating at pace with incomplete information.
Responsibilities
  • Manage engineers across the Intelligence, Experience, and Platform squads; own hiring and people development; and strengthen technical leadership within each team.
  • Partner with product managers and technical leads to translate company priorities into clear objectives, shape solutions, and agree credible delivery plans.
  • Ensure engineers contribute to understanding customer problems and exploring solutions, not just implementing requirements.
  • Be accountable across the squads for engineering capability, work quality, and delivery against agreed commitments.
  • Make capacity, dependencies, and risks visible; resolve obstacles; and work with Product and the CTO when priorities, scope, or timing need to change.
  • Share responsibility with the squads and Product for the outcomes of the work.
  • Own hiring, coaching, and performance management across all three squads; develop engineers and technical leads who make sound decisions and take responsibility for their work.
  • Work with the CTO and Product to establish clear responsibilities and a consistent operating approach in a lean, flat structure.
  • Build an evidence-based view of the codebase, delivery process, and engineering capability across all three squads, and agree priority improvements with the CTO and Product.
  • Make initial hiring and team-shape decisions based on each squad’s capability and capacity needs.
  • Establish regular coaching and clear expectations for engineers, assess who is thriving or needs support, and identify capability gaps.
  • Establish clear technical ownership within each squad, enabling engineers to take responsibility for decisions and technical leads to work effectively with Product.
  • Help squads deliver meaningful improvements end to end and assess their impact on customers or dependent teams.
  • Put a lightweight planning and delivery rhythm into practice across the squads, making commitments, dependencies, and risks visible without centralizing every decision.
  • Take responsibility for what the team ships and its effect on customers, not just internal velocity metrics.
  • Think carefully about the problems being solved and the decisions the team makes, using AI to sharpen that thinking rather than replace it.
  • Make progress when time is short and information is incomplete, and adjust as more becomes known.

About the company

Capsa AI builds an AI operating system for private capital that links a fund’s CRM, Outlook, SharePoint, and proprietary deal data into one knowledge layer. This lets teams source, diligence, and monitor investments using agentic workflows instead of scattered documents and siloed systems. It is model-agnostic, offers single-tenant and regional hosting, SOC 2 Type II certification, and does not train on client data. Its goal is to streamline private-capital investing processes by unifying data and automating policy-driven workflows to support US expansion and growth.

Capsa AI raises $18M to build operating system for private capital intelligence.

Capsa AI raises $18M to build operating system for private capital intelligence. London-based fintech firm Capsa AI, which builds an AI operating system for private capital firms to manage investment data and streamline deal workflows, has secured $18 million in a Series A round led by TX Ventures and Pivot Investment Partners, with support from Bek Ventures, Outward VC, Antler, Cornerstone VC, and angel investor Paul Forster. * Founded in 2022 by Danyal Özdüzenciler and Callum Downie, Capsa AI develops an AI operating system for private capital firms that unifies and structures a firm's fragmented internal and external data, such as emails, documents, CRM systems, and third-party sources, into a searchable knowledge layer. * The platform uses AI to surface and trace answers to complex investment questions, and it enables investment teams to build custom workflows across the deal lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring. * By connecting to existing systems and indexing historical deal and communication data, Capsa allows firms to retrieve institutional knowledge, improve decision-making speed, and maintain full auditability and security across their investment processes. Details of the deal. * The fresh investment will enable Capsa AI to accelerate its expansion into the US market, scale its engineering and go-to-market teams, and further enhance its agentic AI and indexing capabilities for private capital firms. "This capital lets us continue to scale Capsa within major private capital firms globally, grow our world-class team in London and New York, and take the platform's agentic capabilities even further. Private capital is one of the most data-intensive industries on earth, and it has been chronically underserved by technology. We intend to change that," Capsa AI's founders commented on LinkedIn.

Capsa AI raises $18M for AI operating system indexing private equity data

Capsa AI, a London and New York startup building an "AI operating system" for private capital, has raised $18 million in Series A funding co-led by TX Ventures and Pivot Investment Partners. The round brings total funding to $20 million. Founded in 2024, Capsa indexes scattered fund data from CRMs, emails and documents into a searchable layer, enabling AI-powered sourcing, due diligence and portfolio monitoring. The company says private capital manages over $15 trillion in assets, yet manual search costs the industry $35 billion annually. Capsa claims 14 times year-on-year revenue growth and 100 per cent renewal rate with 14 staff. It's already deployed at several major private capital firms. The startup offers SOC 2 Type II certification and single-tenant hosting to address security concerns. The funding will support US expansion and hiring.
